For those of you who want to get most out of your Galaxy S3 GT-i9300, you will certainly want to root your Galaxy S3. Rooting your Galaxy S3 gives you lots of benefits like full control over your phone, ability to install custom ROMs, and a whole lot more. So, you want to root your U.S. or Canadian Galaxy S3 with the Qualcomm dual-core 1.5Ghz CPU?
If your Galaxy S3 model started with SGH-T999, SGH-I747, or SPH-L710, you can follow this step-by-step guide and root your phone within about 5 minutes. No, this will not erase any apps or settings on your phone and does not affect your phone in any way other than install ClockworkMod Recovery and give you root. (So if you have problems after rooting, don’t just assume it’s from rooting, it’s not.)

If you haven’t tried the latest Carbon ROM, definitely you should give this ROM a go. I’ve been actually following Carbon ROM ever since the first nightlies came out for my Note 2 couple months back and now they support many new devices including most Galaxy S3s plus their latest stable releases are pretty solid with customization similar to AOKP ROM.

For AOSP ROM of the week, you will certainly want to check out the latest AOKP MR1 Milestone 1 ROM.
The latest “MR1 Milestone 1″ is the first, ever “stable” version put out by the AOKP Team and official versions are available for those of you with AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, or GT-i9300 Galaxy S3.
If you’ve been put off by the fact that there was no stable Android 4.2.2 AOKP yet, now is the time to reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery and install the latest AOKP ROM.
Of course, this ROM isn’t for anyone/everyone but
Here’s a quick update on the latest Synergy ROM revision 484 for Galaxy S3, available for AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, or Canadian dual-core S3s. The latest version comes with a new “floating multi-window titlebar” controls (if you don’t want floating windows), TreveE wifi tether updated with MAC spoofing option, and Ziggy kernel working for T-Mobile users (finally!).
There’s also a new logic to detect your carrier during installation so it should be a lot easier to install for all carriers.

For Verizon Galaxy S3 SCH-i535 ROM of the week, check out Plasma ROM. Based on Verizon firmware (for stability), Plasma ROM brings you some interesting combination of features.
First, Plasma ROM comes with two cameras, Android 4.2 Photo Sphere and S3 camera, both working flawless.
Second, you will find a “fully” ported Sony Walkman app (instead of Samsung music player) that will fool you into thinking you actually have an Xperia when you listen to your music.
