UPDATE: See new version 0.3 here INSTEAD!!!

The new 0.2 comes with support for custom boot animations (places your favorite boot animation from AndroidBootAnimation.com into /system/media directory), native wifi/bluetooth tether, 15-toggles, and AT&T bloatware zapped.

Give it a go and let me know what you think! And as always, your suggestions for future features are welcome.

UPDATE: 8/23/2012 – Users reported having some battery issues, please do not install v0.2 for now, I am looking into it, will have a fixed v0.3 soon. Sorry! but v0.1 is fine. Version 0.3 is UP, flawless.

    Thanks!!

  6. Jev says:

How are we supposed to install it if we have v0.1 already. Do we need to wipe the phone first and then do it? Or is there and easier way without loosing all your data and apps.

I installed v0.2 on my AT&T Galaxy S3 twice. The top status bar does not display. Restored v0.1. Please advise. Thx.

      same problem flash highonandroid 0.2v

      • Steve H says:

You need to install over top of version 0.1 for some reason when you wipe factory reset you lose the status bar. So just install 0.2 over top of 0.1 without a wipe and everything should be good.. hey max just letting you know a few things everything is working great absolutely flawless. The only problem I can see is battery life. I’ve had the phone unplugged for about an hour and already lost 20% of the battery. Other then that WiFi works great lte work awesome. All apps install and work flawlessly. Love the jellybean animations love Google now. I feel like I have my nexus back 🙂 with a little bit of the touchwiz in it.. one suggestion any way on the next version you can make it the nexus keyboard instead of this stupid keyboard for touchwiz. Also throw in the skip track by volume button.

  11. rfb813 says:

Nice update. I flashed over v0.1 last night and all worked well. While your bootanimation was great, I changed it to something else. Everthing seems to work great. Now to see how the battery life is.
    Keep up the good work!

  12. Pablo says:

I noticed the battery drains alot faster.. i have the brightness all the way down and the screen is using 49% the battery life on 0.1 was great though.

    Hey Max

i installed this rom’s version 0.1 and everything worked great except the device kept trying to connect to AT&T device manager and wuld always end up getting errored out and saying AT&T software has stopped working. i thought on v0.2 it will be gone but it is still there. i am using galaxy s3 i747 on Canadian Bell Network. its really a piss off as it makes the device freeze a lot of time!

  16. Michael says:

How will I be able to get visual VM without the AT&T Messages app?

    • Michael says:

Never mind. AT&T Messages app was still there after upgrade.

What I would like to see on the next revision is:

      Working Google Wallet
      Awesome Beats

      Keep up the GREAT work!!!

  17. Michael says:

Oh, BTW! You are awesome for doing this for us!

  18. rfb813 says:

Max, I still get the ATT chime on bootup. How do you remove it?
    Thanks

  19. Jay says:

i agree with the people above who have stated that the battery drains out fast. with original software or rom’s v0.1 the battery would last me about a day or so but with the v0.2 the battery drained out completely in about 4.5 hours! if anything can be done to improve battery life with the next version it will be great!! but still awesome job keep it up

  20. Ken says:

Not working for me Max. Went from v0.1 to v0.2 without wipe and got black background with no status bar.

  21. ryan says:

Had fully charged and it died in 3 hours… what happened man 0.1 lasted me 17 hours.. I love the Rom tho

  22. ralph says:

had to flash back to version 0.1 ..version 0.2 battery draw was dead about 4 hours ..hope there will be a fix soon wanna flash to update .02 asap

  23. salvador perez says:

Rom is wonderfull, but baterry go very fast

  24. neals says:

I’m having the same problem with the battery as others. I flashed v 0.2 right before I went to bed with 100% charge, when I woke up it was at 5% even with juice defender on. Looks like a great rom, but I will be flashing back to v 0.1 until it is fixed. Thanks for all of your hard work Max.

  25. Michael says:

Chiming in… Love the ROM, but battery life suffers.

  26. Zeeshan says:

    Hi Max
Thanks for the hard work. I have one quick question. Will the Wifi/Bluetooth tethering hide tethering usage from AT&T? Just curious.

    Thanks very much

I would like to never see wifi available notification again , you know the popup that says ….
“wifi available do you want to [connect , never ? ,remind me later” ]
I don’t know what triggers it but I have seen it when I open an app like browser etc.. , I have wifi off .
If you know of a way to disable would be great and also suggestion for V0.3

Thanks 4 doin that voodoo u do!

  28. rfb813 says:

    Hi Max,
Everything is working perfectly, as noted in an earlier post I changed the Bootannimation. The only problem is the phone is heating up and the battery life is not good; 9.00 hours after moderate use. V1q was at least 4-5 hours better.

  29. Donald Taylor says:

when i rooted my att gs3 the stock rom was replaced with the cyanogenmod9 custom rom. If i want to flash your highonandroid rom do i first need to reflash the att stock rom or is it ok to flash your custom rom over the current custom rom which i now have?

  30. cameron says:

Dropping back to 0.1 as well…battery drain is killing me.
    Loved it otherwise.

  31. rfb813 says:

Loved your rom but the battery life was unacceptable. Tried Triune II Rom and found it very good. It is UCALH1 based and has 15 toggles, Google now, and good battery life. I flashed the UCALHi Modem to the ROM and for me it provides better download speeds and reception. Take a look at it.
I am waiting for your newest update.

  32. OJ says:

    Hi Max;
Is it possible that I install the V0.2 over an stock rom bypassing the installation of v0.1?

  33. OJ says:

who can help me get back the status bar with the new v0.2?

  34. OJ says:

Didn’t work for me. will try V0.1 then.

  35. Donald Taylor says:

Hey Max, I rooted my att gs3 and am notified that i cannot play streaming video on a rooted device. Any way to change that???…thanks in advance for your good work

  36. salvador perez says:

I think this hack dont work with ver .0.1

  37. Michael says:

    Hey Max,

Any word on the release of .03 for AT&T i747?

  38. Joe Buck says:

Max, seriously, fix the battery issue before posting new versions of this ROM. You can’t boast about battery optimization one second and have this happen the next and be so slow to correct it. Sloppy work.

    • h_____omz says:

Dude, stop bitching around! If you dislike the ROM, don’t flash it as easy as that… For the record, he mentioned that there was a battery issue for this rom. Do you know how many emails this guy get from a guy like you? And before he can fix the issue, there’s a bunch of emails from you waiting that’s he needs to answer. If it’s that easy like you sound’s like, why don’t you fix it yourself!

      • Steve H says:

I would have to agree this guy does outstanding work for people like me and idiots like you. He works very hard to bring us the best roms every week. And yes if you don’t like it don’t install the Rom move on and find a different one. Fucking ignorant people.

        • Joe Buck says:

Criticism is necessary for improvement. With the dozens of S3 ROMs out there, you can bet I will go elsewhere. Dry them tears and stop taking it so personally.

    • Max says:

battery issue is fixed on v0.3! It’s flawless.

  39. salvador perez says:

Hi Max great job; thank you for the new version v.03
Work great and the baterry great too. Thank yoj

  40. ralph says:

were is version three i cant find it thanks

  41. Derek says:

Just flashed the v0.3 and my phone keeps flipping between H+ and 3G with my mobile data and has not once hit 4G… Any ideas? Thanks for the help in advance.

    • Max says:

you might have corrupt data that happened to me last week, you can fix it by doing a reset inder settings but it will erase evrything on ur internal storage so make sure u backip before and reinstall rom.

      • Derek says:

Thanks for the quick reply. I was doing some digging in the meantime… When I go into Settings:About:Status, it is bouncing between HSPA:11 and HSPAP:15. What are the different indicators that will show up on the top bar? Before I flashed, my stock ROM was always showing 4G, but never LTE at my house.

      • ralph says:

max ,what is the benafit of installing your kernal for highonandroid v0.3 i never flashed a new kernal im on stock. and download page not working for me can u give me a link for it thank you

      • Derek says:

I tried your advise and I am now in an area that I know I was getting LTE coverage, but my top bar is jumping between H+, H, and 3G. I have not once seen 4G or LTE display… Any other ideas?

        • Steve H says:

Try going to your settings then ‘more settings’ then go to “mobile networks” then try going to network operators and choosing your network operator. Give it a minute to register on the network. You should have LTE back . If you didn’t do a factory wipe then it should never have changed your radio settings. But try it anyways and see if it works.

          • Derek says:

When I go here, it only has “Default setup” which is grayed out… I didn’t do a wipe initially, until Max advised me to. I am not back to factory and will try to flash this again.

      • Derek says:

Max. I am in need of major help! I keep running into all kinds of trouble even when trying to unroot and go back to stock. Now I have a bunch of folders that will not let me delete them and are saying they are write-protected. Folders like “clockworkmod” which i have no idea why I couldnt delete…. Please help.

  42. ralph says:

max thanks again for all your hard work v0.3 working awesome ..*****

  43. Ken says:

So how long does the battery last on v0.3 compared to v0.1?

  44. Terrell says:

Should I Wipe before flashing the v0.3?

  45. Derek says:

Did you load different radio icons? I wiped and reflashed to HOA v0.3 and it shows between H, H+, and 4G LTE. The icons are completely different than what shows up on your video of the v0.2. Also, I have having some pretty major issues with data being moved between my internal and external memory since I have loaded your ROM. I posted the details under http://galaxys3root.com/highonandroid-galaxy-s3-rom/. I am wondering if it has anything to do with you adding the App2ExtSD Hack. Please look into this and advise.
    Thanks for all your effort.

  46. Kirk says:

Would like to see double tapping the home button bring up Google Now instead of voice dial.

    • Derek says:

+1… Or even make it customizable. I also could never get voice dial to work… Is there a known issue with this?

  47. Michael says:

    Hey Max,

How can I disable App2SD without messing up the phone? I would like to keep my ExternalSD only for Nandroids.

    Thanks!

    • Michael says:

Never mind. Found your answer in another post:

      Q:How to disable this?
A:If for some reason you are having trouble, simply delete /system/etc/init.d/11extsd2internalsd.
      OR
if you leave your microSD card out during boot (then re-insert it after), your phone will work as normal (internal storage used for app data).

  48. Mark says:

when you are flashing a ROM do you copy it to your external meaning the phone, or do you copy it to your SD card the 1 you can remove out of your phone I need your help max please?

  49. Prat says:

Hey I know this is very late, but i was wondering if i was on v.01, could i flash the official jelly bean update through kies or would I have to do it another way?
