Hey max, I seem to be having a problem with this. I applied the settings you provided for 4G LTE but when I select it I don’t get LTE at all. I don’t even get 4G. It just says H next to the bars and sometimes switched between H and 3G. I tried rebooting my phone and the same thing happened.

I was able to install the aokp rom on my S3 but I can’t find where to input those settings for 4G LTE. Can you post the path?

  3. Rob says:

  4. Jay says:

Only get EVDO. Reinstalled ROM four times. No luck. LTE has yet to even show up.

Not liking this ROM too much.

  7. Kilo Jonez says:

UPDATE: I’ve followed these instructions to the letter and have completely lost my LTE connection. I’ve followed your instructions on APN settings with no luck.

I’ve factory restored and reflashed to the stock ROM and I’m still stuck on EDGE/EVDO. No HSPA/+ or LTE. I’ve even installed more and more custom roms to see if they’d fix the issue, but they haven’t.

    • Max says:

Try doing reset in Settings, that will erase your internal storage so make a backup beforehand. Sometimes while flashing ROMs, data can get corrupt and lose 4G LTE. But doing that will fix it.

      • Kilo Jonez says:

No luck when doing the factory reset through the settings menu. Any other ideas? I may just have to bite the bullet on this one and try to send it back under warranty.

Is there a reliable way to reset the binary counter yet?

  8. Mike G says:

is it possable to use the (LTE/4G)APN settings listed for the AT&T S3 on an Unlocked Tmobile S3?
The currnet APN i have is generic(Phone , which is supposedly the HSPA+/4G equiv), it allows for net/text but MMS is not available…. Any help is grand!

  9. Steve says:

I wanted a battery life, so I did the HSPA+ setting. It works but every now and then I would lose service and it will reconnect again. Is there a fix for this? Thanks!

  10. Will says:

I’ve tried entering the pta settings for LTE on my unlocked S3 and no luck. The AT&T wap.cingular works fine at 4G. The odd part is that when I tried contacting AT&T, they told me they cannot link the data to their carrier. I can’t even connect to them under “network operators”. Do you think it’s a firmware issue that’s preventing me from accessing LTE (I live in NYC, so LTE isn’t a hassle)?

    • Max says:

Do you have 4G LTE SIM card? You need a SIM card with 4G LTE enabled, if you don’t 4G LTE will not work, you can get one at your local store.

Wanted to say thank you for this. Tried to flash Liquidsmooth and got hung up at the bootlogo. Did a factory reset on my device and was still stuck in the loop. I ended up using the above method to restore to factory image. Big thanks for providing this walkthrough.

  15. Tony Tone says:

I flashed with the SynergyROM on AT&T S3 with Simple Mobile. I had 4G before the flash and can’t for the life of days of reading find a fix to fix it. I have E, G, 3G, H+. No 4G.
    Thanx : )

  16. FearMyBooty says:

I flashed the synergy r433 rom and lost 4G, so I tried the above, and found that there were no APN’s. I tried adding a new one, but all the options are greyed out. Any ideas?
