For this week’s Sprint and Verizon Galaxy S3 ROM of the week, check out the latest version of MOAR ROM.

MOAR ROM, an acronym for Mother of All ROMs, is definitely one of the best custom ROMs you can install on your Sprint or Verizon Galaxy S3 that gives you a tons of features, customization, and themes.

MOAR ROM comes with an AROMA graphical installer that let’s you do 3 things. You can install the MOAR ROM using the standard option (with stock TouchWiz theme), install with custom theme, or re-run Morphology to change your theme. Basically, you have about 31 pre-set themes to choose from or you can even customize your own. (See our last video for a walk-through on that.)

With its MOAR Mod Control, you will be able to choose from 7 different lockscreens, apply ink effects, change clock/battery/status bar, enable auto call-recording, and even set long-press kill button to Menu or Back buttons.

Other extra apps include Xposed App Settings so you can run apps in Phone or Tablet mode, LMT Pie Launcher, Light Manager app (for customizing notification LED colors), and some more.

Of course, the killer feature on this ROM (I forgot to mention in my video) in my opinion is the transition animations.  With the latest version, you will have to flash an additional file to get this so just flash it after installing ROM.

Overall, MOAR ROM is a very versatile ROM offering you numerous of theme options while allowing you to customize UI further more with its MOAR Mod Control Settings. If you have not checked out this custom ROM for your Sprint or Verizon GS3, definitely check out the latest version this week(end) and do let me know how much you like it.

  9. alex says:

hey max the question I got is when I upgraded to the moar 5.0 for sprint it doesn’t let me do the multiwindow and also now when I go online it doesn’t show the pics anymore just shows a square box with a question mark in it. I would greatly appreciate your help thank you.

    • AveryBoots says:

Alex how did you do your upgrade? Did you just download the new file and reinstall? And were you able to save your previous settings or did you have to start all over?

  10. Kevin says:

I already have the last version of MOAR installed on my phone. Is there a way to update it through the settings or do I need to flash this new one to update it?

  13. steve says:

Anyone else’s battery draining fast? Barely an hour browsing the internet and already lost 10 percent..

    • Jaime says:

It might take a day or so for the rom to work with your battery correctly. It took mine that long when I installed v4.01 and now I have great battery life.

  14. Becky Bryson says:

I’m sure I missed this somewhere, so please excuse me for asking but…..what about GAPPS for this ROM??? Everything looks great after installation! ★☆★ The only thing I’m lacking are my Google apps. :-(

To install Google Apps download the link above install it in your SD card. Go to recovery as if you are installing the ROM and after you installed the ROM run this.

    • Becky says:

Thank you very much! I just had the wrong gapps downloaded. I got it corrected, & everything has been running great ever since.

  16. Greggy K says:

I’m really liking this rom so far. Out of all the features, the only one that doesn’t seem to be working is the CRT animation for screen on/off. I have the box checked but it’s not working. Is there something else that has to be active for it to work, or did I maybe just find a bug in this version?

  17. ThetaJeff says:

Of course there is better battery life There is no LTE working.

  18. Libor says:

Hey Max, I’m haveing problem downoading Moar Rom do you have a direct site to download, and is it best to download to my ext card or my sd card. I’m running Verizon Galaxy S3! [SPH-L710/SCH-i535]
Thank you for your awesome work

  19. Joe P says:

    Hi Max,
I can’t install this ROM on my Verizon S3, I go threw the set up and it installs it but, when I reboot it give me that yellow triangle and telling me to take it to Verizon. I have tried it multiple times now I’m glad I did a back up but I don’t know what else to do. I would really like to try this ROM out but I am stomped on what to do?

    rooted 4.1.2

    • Max says:

Oh did you unlock your bootloader? If not you need to do that. To get out of current state, unroot using stock firmware or install another ROM.

      • Joe P says:

I thought I did unlock my bootloader? I flashed the VRALEC.bootchain.tar thru odin and I used the EZ app too? I honestly feel I’m missign one simple step. I was looking thru your site’s to see if I would find a vid or something to get the visual.

By the way this is my first Galaxy phone and I’ve followed you with my Motorola phones really easy root process for sure but I guess I just can’t understand the bootloader :/

  20. young eno says:

  24. Hello I have recently installed the rom and the only problem that I am getting is that the messaging is not working. I have done a hard wipe and also tried installing the mms.apk file to my phone and still I can’t use text messages on the phone. Has this happen with anyone else and what can you suggest to solve this problem..? Other than that the rom is great from what I have seen switching from hyperdrive to this one…
