Here’s a ROM recommended by many Sprint Galaxy S3 users, the Anakonda ICS ROM. This ROM is based off LG8, comes with a highly-themed user interface.

You get a choice of Apex or TouchWiz launcher, custom ringtones, custom wallpapers, Jelly Bean animations, ad-block, enabled camera during call, use Volume keys as shutter in camera, and a bit more. You can also get GoogleNow by installing the file below after installing ROM.

If you are looking for a highly-themed ROM, definitely give this one a try and let me know what you think!

I had a bad experience with an OTA and am nervous about rooting and flashing a rom. Is there any noob proof way to stop these phones from accepting OTA’s? Alot of periodic maintenance is not my idea of noob proof. Please give me advice on a ROM if I don’t want to have OTA’s every push…

    Hi Max,
I finally got my replacement s3 “I was the person with the hardware failure on stock rom” and I installed Anakonda. Here are a few things that I found so far. I kept getting sprint connection optimizer errors which I fixed by freezing the service in titanium backup “let me no if i did the wrong thing.”
Another is that the sliding keyboard was taken out in this custom rom, I installed Slide-it purchased, so I happy now. The camera function is greatly improved because most of my shots aren’t coming out blurry now! I can’t wait to try out Beats audio! Thanks for your hard work and sharing knowledge.

    • Ron says:

I cleared the cache, and un-froze sprint connections optimiser which fixed the problem, I think Ididn’t clear the cache before I installed. No problems for several days and great battery life. Beats audio is nice to have. I will stick too this one for at least a little while 🙂

Hi everyone. I have a galaxy s3 that is rooted. I’m with a provider in Montreal Canada called Videotron. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if any of these versions of CM10 ROM M2 would be safe to install on my phone. Any help would be greatly appreaciated! Thanks.

    • Max says:

use AT&T version for models beginning with SGH-i747 and T-Mobile for SGH-T999.

      • Jason says:

Thanks Max. I’ll give it a try.

        • Jason says:

So my phone is rooted. I should get the t-mobile rom since i have a t999. And then just follow your instructions? Back up my current rom. Get gapps. Install rom manager from play store. And just continue following the instructions? Anything I should know so I don’t brick my phone? lol

  15. Murphy says:

Please help, I rooted my sprint S3 and tried to install this mod through clockwork recovery manual. The phone starts shows the orange alternate loader for a few seconds and the switches to the samsung logo and does nothing not even after 15+ minutes.

  16. Murphy says:

Please help! I successfully rooted my sprint GS3 using the method from this website. I then transferred this ROM onto my sd card and tried to flash it using Clockwork Mod manual, i did not back up up my rom beforehand *facepalm*, now no matter what I do I never get past the samsung logo. I’ve tried using odin to restore the factory rom but it just isn’t working, need help!

  17. Murphy says:

I’ve managed to recover and restore to factory setting, but now i have a no sim card message…

  18. Eddie says:

I already rooted my GS3 SPH-L710 to turn off the shutter tone on the camera. I have the ES file explorer and whenever I try changing the extension on the shutter.ogg and the shutter_multiple.ogg it says unable to change and unable to delete them. How do I get rid of it? Did I root my phone wrong that it says unable to change the extension to .bak or delete it completely to eliminate it? Please Help Me Out Somebody..
