Android 4.4.2 + Root for Sprint Galaxy S3 SPH-L710! [Stock Rooted ROM][ND8]

For those of you who want to install the latest Android 4.4.2 stock ND8 firmware, you do not have to unroot back to stock using ODIN, which can be time consuming, instead grab the zip version which you can install with CWM or TWRP recovery.

This version is 100% stock and also comes with root so you can try the latest Android 4.4.2 without losing root.

For those of you with an older bootloader (You’ve rooted your phone on 4.3 or earlier), you will need to flash KToonsez kernel to make it boot.

If you already have Android 4.4.2 bootloader or later, you can just flash the ROM and should boot fine.  Also, if coming from stock rooted ROM, you may be able to install without doing a factory reset.  Just make a backup ROM and install ROM without factory reset if that’s the case.

I tried the oneplus one and could not configure my phone to get 4g on my boost s3. My stock backup had gotten corrupted so i downloaded this. While everything else I have tried works, I cannot get the wifi to turn on with this rom.

So will this install the latest modem? If I revert back to my backup, will I keep the new modem, or will that revert too?

Does anyone have the link to the proper Gapps for this ROM? In the article it mentions ‘See above for download.’ but I don’t see an actual link to the Gapps download.

I found a link to 4.4.2 Gapps on this page for Gummy ROM, I am assuming that’s OK to use.

    HI Max!

I bought my S3 on August 2012. I rooted my phone and flash Carbon Rom and 4GLTE worked great!
Just a week ago, I suddenly lost my MIED so I flash back to Stock and I flash L710VPALEN then restore my MEID. But the phone asking to insert SIM CARD. Since I’m in Sprint. I don’t have SIM card. So I flashed L710VPUDNJ2.

Now the problem: My connection always on 1xRTT, Sometime 3G but super slow. Sometime get 4gLTE slower than 3G

Is there a solution to this problem?

Hi, I have a particularly odd issue with my S3. The installation of the ROM/Kernel went smooth, and it boots up fine. However, everything is only fine during the first boot. If i reboot my phone, weird things start happening, such as: system apps start force closing, I lose my wallpaper, my status bar disappears, the home key stops functioning, etc. The only way to alleviate this issue is to perform a complete wipe, reinstall the ROM, and refrain from a reboot. As you can imagine, it’s quite aggravating. I’ve had to do this at least 3 times already, and I just want to be done with it. Has anyone else had this issue, or something similar to it?

I have a Galaxy S3 (Freedompop/Sprint) that I have installed a custom ROM on (AICP). I need to revert back to 4.4.2 to update the PRN, PRL. I had the latest update to KitKat 4.4.2 so I think I would also have the newest bootloader, but, when I try to flash the phone with the file at the Download Android 4.4.2 + Root Stock ROM ND8 for Sprint Galaxy S3 SPH-L710 link above, the phone will not boot up. The screen remains black and the blue LED blinks on and off.

    Any ideas?
