For those of you with AT&T, T-Mobile, or Sprint Galaxy S3 (or compatible Canadian phones), you can try Serenity Jelly Bean ROM for your Galaxy S3.

A Note 2 port, the Serenity Jelly Bean ROM features Note 2 base with Galaxy S3 framework. You will find familiar Note 2 apps like Note 2 Gallery, Paper Artist, and also UpdateME app that allows you to easily add new features to the ROM.

Also you do get Note 2 camera, so you can do slow-motion/time-lapse videos. This feature doesn’t work quite as smoothly as my Note 2 but it gets the job done and certainly a nice feature to have.

Other than that, the Serenity ROM comes de-bloated, and should give you much better performance/battery life over stock.

If you are looking to try new ROMs and if you haven’t tried this one, definitely give it a go today and let me know what you think!

I’m looking for a ROM that I can install without wiping apps/contacts etc. It is a pain in the ass to reinstall my apps with Titanium and I see to always get random errors. I’ve tried Wicked and want to try this… looking for a link for Omega ROM? Any help would be appreciated.

I have been looking for a way around this for a while, it seems there is no good solution besides titanium, which is problematic. As you probably already know, you will get errors in titanium if you back up an app+data for say, contacts, and your new ROM is using a different or modified contacts app. Backing up your contacts to google is a good idea. You can back up your homepages and settings through Nova, Apex, or another launcher and restore the locations of apps after you have re-instated them from titanium.

The best way to deal with contacts when flashing a lot of roms is to sync you contacts with your google account. That way every time you flash something new you can just re-sync with google and your contacts will all be restored.

Can I install this with just clearing the cache’ and not doing a factory reset/wipe (since I’m “factory” already)?

i tryed to root my att s3 i got as far as to install clockworkmod but it keep asking to install from external sdcard every time i try it keep saying fail can anyone help.

    • bambalino says:

Well i dunno if you have the same problem i had but lets see. My problem was that after i installed cwm i would go look for the superuser zip but whrn i hit the “choose zip from sd” i would get an error saying “cant mount sd card” i dont have an external sdcard. So what i did was go into xda-developers and downloaded touch cwm recovery the latest version. Placed the phone on download mode, flashed the recovery via odin and boom everything worked perfectly. Hope this helps

With this Rom, the swipe on the samsung keyboard is not working. I can type normal but swipe doesn’t work. Im going to try to redownload it and see how it goes, otherwise I’m going back to my stock T-Mobile software.

  26. Bryan says:

You know – I tried it out, and I think it’s terrible. Reminds me of why I stopped using touchwiz in the first place. Everything runs slow as well…. For those of you wondering about battery life – this drains it fast! I fortunately saved my cynogenmod rom 10 and went back to that. I might try out a few others, but for me, the CM10 can’t be beat.

    ## Running SG3, Cynogenmod 10 – stable. Forever!!

  27. Bryan says:

I used this rom for about a month and it works pretty good on my att S3. I only had one issue with a constant reboot once but fixed it by plugging in the charger. Overall a good rom.

  28. Opie Knievel says:

Ever since I flashed this ROM the counter for the phone calls doesn’t work.

  29. Jason says:

Amazing!! Keep up the amazing work!! 5 stars

Not bad, but not great.. Installed quickly and easily on my Tmobile SGH-T999. Upon initial boot i noticed phone and messaging app force closes. After tinkering around with it for a little while i found out that it was being caused by the stock wifi calling app. Went into settings and disabled it and everything worked fine. I would not recommend this rom however, do to the crappy battery life and overall buggy feel of it. Wicked JB is a much better rom if your trying to stay close to stock..

  31. Griff says:

I have been running this rom for a couple of days now. I have not had any issues with it. I wanted a near stock rom so my wifi would not keep dropping all the time. So far so good. Battery life is as good as I had on LiquidSmooth and JellyBam.

  32. Mike says:

Ok, so i have installed many roms before and this is no big deal, but. My problem is that my ubuntu 12.04 laptop wont recognize my galaxy s3 sgh-i747 in odin, runs under wine, could it be because of the drivers?

  33. Jim says:

With this Rom, the swipe on the samsung keyboard is not working is there a fix for it???? Please answer this question.
