For those of you who want to run a Jelly Bean ROM on your Verizon Galaxy S3 SCH-i535, check out the latest JellyWiz ROM. It’s most likely Verizon GS3 will get official Jelly Bean last but no worries, that is why you can root your phone and install custom ROMs.

This JellyWiz ROM also comes with cool stuff like Note 2 Gallery, and 15 toggles, CPU script, and is built on top of official Verizon leak.

I’ve actually been flashing this ROM on and off and it seems like the latest hybrid version is pretty awesome!

If you want a taste of Jelly Bean running on your Verizon Galaxy S3, definitely give this ROM a try and let me know what you think.

DO you know if this rom, the active sync works for the contacts for the Microsoft Exchange server? It seems that every jellybean rom I have tried, I can’t get the contacts to sync but everything else does.

  6. Eric says:

Does this ROM contain the pre-lawsuit local Google search function?….I need the local/universal search that searches all phone info including emails and documents. Also does the camera have a burst mode for action photos? I would rather not risk flashing if one or both of these features are not contained…Does anyone know how i can get the local search back on my Verizon Galaxy s3?

Love the rom best of both worlds give it 10/10

  10. Jonathan says:

Removing this ROM today for a couple of reasons:
    1. When playing music through bluetooth I have to go into DSP manager and actually move a slider on the equalizer to get the music to play through. ( Had a similar issue with a ROM I once used for my Thunderbolt and it had something to do with the kernel ).
    2. Screen flickers ( Not a deal breaker but annoying )
    3. Starbucks app is not stable on here for some reason ( This was the one to push me over the edge… don’t mess with my Starbucks ).
    4. Camera app freezes and force closes when you try to use the Cartoon effect.

The sad part is that other than those issues , the app is smooth and actually has great battery life! If you have any fixes or suggestions to solve the issues I am having I am open to them. For now I am going back to Beans Custom ROM or back to the rooted stock ROM….

You have to go through Flash Clock Manager Recovery, select your device, then Boot into Recovery… Then you can go ahead and flash from zip…

But will I still have the same trouble with JellyWiz not recognizing my external storage, basically rendering my camera useless…
I wonder if App2SD from the HighOnAndroid v0.3 is the cause… I haven’t been able to get any AOSP or AOKP ROM to recognize my external SD, even checked the FAT32 format & recovery recognizes it… Really would like to run the new VZW JellyWiz but want confirmation that this is fixed or how to fix it first.
I imagine Max will have a review and links soon.

      • charlie says:

Update: camera saves photos and movies but stock gallery says ‘not enough space’… 10+ gigs free each on sd and internal so must be a pointer or permissions issue. Used third party app gallery as workaround. Kind of a pain… also some apps cannot find external sd card such as google earth. Not sure bluetooth is working right either. I woukd really love to know what the right locations to map are so i can use a sd binder to fix the sd issue. Loving the battery life though! Moderate use and can easily make a full day. Huge improvement over stock for this reason and for google now and overall snappiness.

Hi max, I installed the Jellywiz rom on my Verizon Galaxy sIII and everything is working except my wifi connection. It sees the wifi modem..but does not connect to it??…Help please??

  20. AJ says:

I had highs nandroid before inst, allying this rom, but decided to go back…here’s why

    1. Battery life was not good…15% per hour with normal use
    2. If tried to play a downloaded video, it would reboot. I don’t play many videos, but want that option.
    3. GPS did not work…at all
    4. Some apps would freeze and stop working intermittently. Very annoying

Over than those issues, great ROM.

“Better to try and fail than never to have tried at all.”

  21. Fred says:

My favorite rom of all time so far, there may be something coming down the road but boy this is slick, fast, it could have better battery but that is prob my fault keeping the brightness on all the time.
    THANKS MAX great demo!

  22. Gojko says:

    First off…I LOVE THIS ROM!
Now to my question/situation: I will be traveling to Europe soon, so I need this phone to work there. When I loose connection here in US, my GS3 – RLS12, gives me a notice “no network, do you want to switch to global mode?”. Does that mean that it will work in Europe?
    Any input will help.

  23. Brian says:

Can anyone tell me how this rom is? i read there are problems but those comments are before the latest update. Any problems with bluetooth etc? im switching roms because CM 10 M2 is giving me awful battery now and i miss touchwiz

  24. Charlie says:

Only problems are minor… Gallery still doesn’t show local photos but picasas show just fine. Download QuickPic app for a workaround. And notification light dim sometimes… But not all the time. Got Bluetooth working fine by pairing and making a call… Then worked fine from then on. Battery is awesome… Idle 2 percent drain max with a decent signal. I missed touch wiz calendar that’s why I tried it. Love it. Coming from aosp cm10 you should FULL wipe. Not cwm full wipe… Maybe not a bad idea to install stock recovery as the 4.0 and newer recovery really clean the file system completely. 4.2 and the multiuser crap really mucked mine up. Ended up with a /0/0/0 nightmare that only going back to rooted stock could fix. If you see an error message about not enough free space and you know there should be, that’s what’s going on.

    • Brian says:

How did you get the bluetooth working? sorry im new to rooting and CM 10 is my first flash. Also what do you mean not cwm wipe? i also dont understand when you say the note 2 gallery doesnt show local photos

    • Brian says:

Also, how do i install the rom? Is it just wipe data factory reset, install zip from sd, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache? please respond and correct me if im wrong. im not flashing until i know

      • Charlie says:

Typically yes but with the multiuser file system transition its better to be safe and use stock recovery wipe IMHO. You could try it but i like fresh and clean…. Rootbrowser less cluttered with worthless remnanants and best chance at working right. Also some people say no need to wipe cache and dalvik after install but it will not hurt anything just take longer to boot next time. If you were not using factory wipe it might make more sense to clear caches. FYI stock factory wipe will clear your ext SD… Cwm does not…Best to pop it out before if you use stock wipe. Can always mount it from recovery when you are done. Now is a good time to format your SD card to fat32 if you haven’t already in anticipation of some jellybean and later releases that will only read fat32.

  25. Charlie says:

Bluetooth frustrated me. what finally did it was pairing to a device but I couldn’t get my media mode to work. So I paired it as best I could and made a phone call from the phone. when I turn Bluetooth off and then on again it just worked. Maybe I got local photos I mean photos taken with the phone or stored on the SD card. Maybe it’s just me cause it seems to work fine for Max.
Max also did a video on how to return to stock. Follow it. In the video it talks about how stock recovery does a more thorough job on a full wipe. Not only will this get you more familiar with how to root your device and how to flash ROM but now that you’ve done it a couple times you can appreciate the difference between CWM recovery and stock recovery. no need to reset the binary. watch the return to stock video and that will make sense. By reverting to stock first and then installing your ROM you eliminate any chance of old ROM or filesystem nonsense messing with your new install.

    • Brian says:

Thanks! now how do i install this rom?

      • Charlie says:

the worst thing that can happen is you flash back to stock and try again. Here is how I did it.. And Make sure you have a good battery level … if it goes wrong that gives you time to fix it.
        1. Cwm factory reset…
        2. Odin nonrooted stock vzw image.. The one that came with the phone and you could use to return to vzw for warranty… Find this in max video on returning to stock. Half these instr are from that video.
        3. Remove sd card…
        4. Stock recovery factory reset full wipe …
        5. Get root again. Odin route66 rooted stock…
        6. Mount SD card clear cache and dalvik factory reset now cwm.
        7. Flash ROM zip… Reboot a couple times for good measure and clear caches if you want. Enjoy. Had some issues with titanium backup make sure you watch how you restore if you use tibu.

        • Brian says:

Thanks dude! youre a life saver! i cant access odin right now since my parents arent home, so im just going to have to do it all from clockworkmod

          • Charlie says:

You might get away with just cwm factory reset clear cache and dalvik and flash new ROM. If it gives problems then take the long road.

  26. Anthony says:

Does anyone know why when I install this ROM or anyother jelly bean base ROM I get an error message with a yellow triangle saying that Verizon does not authorize this software and to turn off phone and take it to my nearest verizon store? I’ve tried flashing every jelly bean ROM on here and the same message pops up but if I flash a ICS ROM it works just fine. Someone please help me!!

  27. Vesper says:

I did get the gallery to work properly when I did a factory wipe. Works like a boss. I also recommend that if you are coming from custom rather than factory to wipe and install 2-3 times to ensure all of the old rom is gone. That’s how I got the galley to work.

There are no major problems that Ihave found with this rim . Enjoy.

  28. William Mather says:

    Ref. article:

“If you’re one of the many who have a custom ROM to help get away from the TouchWiz, you’ll need to get with your ROM developer and see if that ROM’s kernel is affected. Your device probably already is rooted, but you still don’t want to be running around with a big unpatched hole that lets an app read a dump of your device memory.”

Can you tell me if JellyWiz is vulnerable?

  29. Mark K says:

Anybody have any idea how I can get the feature to add an APN working? It’s disabled in this rom, same as the original stock verizon ROM.

Hi-APN Global won’t work on Jelly Bean

  30. Paul says:

Anyone know why I can’t Google Now to work…when I press the app, it starts with the mountain view at the top then the screen flashes and it just goes to Google search…I’ve cleared the cache and dalvik cache a few times now without any success. Really love Google Now so any help would be appreciated…

  31. Charlie says:

Very strange. You could try clearing cache & dalvik and flash ROM again. But first make sure the copy of your zip file had a good checksum… You might have a corrupt file you are flashing. If so, just download again. This is a very solid ROM great for daily driver. A couple of my neighbors with S3 asked me to root their devices and put the jellywiz on their phones after showing them mine. Nice of them to trust me to not brick their $600 phones. It is a nice upgrade over stock touch wiz. Only problem is notification light is dim sometimes. I notice this on all 3 devices I have modified so far.

  32. Paul says:

Thank you for replying! Will flash ROM again and hope it works..everything else does work great…I appreciate it.

  33. Paul says:

    Worked! So simple, lol…thanks!

  34. hari gb says:

Hi I did that and I cannot call out any more or even receive call. Where did I screw up? and how to reestablish my calling function? or did I brick the phone? Everything works great but not connection 3/4 g only wifi. 🙁 thanks
